The work
Specialized brush-out and treatment that reduces loose fur and keeps your home cleaner.
De-shedding is a deep clean that pulls out the undercoat before it ends up on your couch. We use a high-velocity dryer and specialized brushes to loosen and remove dead hair your dog is already shedding. It's not a bath, though we can add one. Most dogs need this every 4 to 8 weeks depending on breed and season.
Spring and fall are peak shedding months, especially for double-coated breeds like Labs and Golden Retrievers. That's when we see the most matting underneath and the most loose fur ready to come out. We start with a thorough brush-out, then use the high-velocity dryer to blast out what's trapped in the undercoat. It takes about an hour.
Your dog leaves here noticeably less fluffy, with a cleaner, healthier coat. You'll vacuum less at home. Some owners say their dog feels lighter and moves easier. If your dog has allergies or skin sensitivity, less trapped hair and dander means less irritation.
What's included: Full undercoat brush-out by hand; High-velocity dryer treatment to remove loose fur; Final comb-through to check for mats; Nail trim; Ear cleaning.

Questions
About de-shedding treatment
Will de-shedding hurt my dog or damage their coat?
No. We're removing hair your dog is already losing. The high-velocity dryer is loud but not painful, and we use the right technique for your dog's coat type. The undercoat grows back naturally.
How often should my dog get de-shedding?
Most dogs benefit from it every 6 to 8 weeks. During heavy shedding seasons like spring and fall, every 4 weeks works better. We can recommend a schedule based on your dog's breed and coat.
Is de-shedding the same as a bath?
No, they're different services. De-shedding focuses on removing loose undercoat with brushing and air. If you want a bath too, we offer that as an add-on, or you can do a full groom package.
